Splash Cove at the Jim Allen Aquatic Center is the smaller of Shawnee’s public pools, but is very popular with families of young children. Splash cove features a 350 gallon conch shell to get soaked under, a mini wave pool, a water playground, instructional pool, and a 125 ft. full body slide.
Theatre
Theatre in the Park, located at 7710 Renner Road, is a large outdoor community theatre. Guests can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks to cozy up under the stars while enjoying a quality show. Theatre in the Park is a summer favorite for Kansas City Metro Area locals.
Shawnee Town 1929
Shawnee Town 1929 is a living history museum with little buildings where visitors learn about what Shawnee was like in the 1920’s. There are events and classes throughout the year, including Homeschool Days. Students can plant seeds, churn butter, feed a rooster and hens, take a lesson from a 1920’s reader, and step into what life was like in the 20’s.
